Bug!!!

On iPhone 4s, you havent the Button on the bottom right to start a new game. Block at the home screen. Cool....

Très bien

Très bien, j attends avec impatience alone in the dark 2 qui reste mon favori!

Great

A Great Classic! Awesome game, but I have some suggestions to improve it. 1- Urgently improve controls, such add a dynamic trackball, not separated directional buttons and also, add a run button and make action buttons a lil bit bigger 2- correct some bugs; 3- launch the AITDs trilogy

Big bug

Great game but once i reach the point to enter the tunnel (in the seller) the game blocks and make my character always turn back . As result i can not go at the lower level

A cheap worthless "port"

I am even reluctant to call this a "port", as there seem to have been zero efforts in adapting the game to touch controls. Someone just made the code compile on iOS and called it a day. The controls are are absolutely awful, no touch controls at all not even in the menus. The option to close the game is called "Quit to DOS". Upon first launch you are forced to watch the games credits. I am thankful I only paid a dollar for this game. Your time and money will be better spent on anything, a-ny-thing else.

Not for 4s screen size

I would like to play this classic, but the confirm button seems to be non-existent on my 4s.

Very flawed.

This port doesnt seem to have all the textures. The PC models and other interactive world objects stick out from the background bitmap a because they are only flat shaded polygons. Back on my old 486, those polygons had textures. The sound emulation is buggy. The MIDI synthesis sounds like a cheap 8bit FM card, and PCM effects lead to hisses and pops. Controls -- they are placed only in a good place for an iPhone-sized device. There is no option to adjust the control placement on iPad.

I am with the other guy

I fully agree with the other review, and would like to see them improved and corrected... Still great to see a classic game return :)

Great idea and love it on IOS

I am happy this game is on IOS and I am glad they where able to fully incorporate it into out on the go rushed lives. Though the texture quality is what some say bad looking past that it comes with good gameplay and a great idea for a game.

Nostalgic but...

Great port of a classic game but seriously could have used some touchscreen upgrades, I mean it even asks if you want to exit to DOS.

Awesome to see it on iOS but major problems...

(Update dec 28 2015) Very disappointed in this app and the team that ported it. Lucky it has found its way onto gog.com so Ill just play that version and Ill avoid this teams work in the future. (Updated for current version) When I saw this appear in the App Store I was very excited to buy this and play it through again as it is one of my favourite games. I gave it a first go just now and while it works there are a few critical problems. First, I cant save. When you try to save the keyboard isnt brought up, so you cant title your save game. Uh...thats really bad. Id love to hear that I was just doing something wrong. Still cannot save in version 1.1. That is very silly. Is the idea that people are going to one shot through this game? Please please please tell me I am doing something wrong and it isnt just that the developers are total buffoons. Second, the control placement is very odd. The turn left and turn right arrows need to be somewhere else, somewhere that you can use both the forward and turn arrows at the same time. My recommendation would be for forward and back to be where they are and for left, action, and right to be where action is right now. Third, support a bluetooth keyboard! Support a bluetooth keyboard. My goodness! This is an old DOS game that assumed access to a keyboard. I have my keyboard set up and the game doesnt recognize keystrokes...thats just silly. Nice try Kung Fu. Update this ASAP. Ive paid my 99 cents and am not going to refund this (I could probably play it through in one sitting anyhow) I would really like to see these changes implemented...get these done and Ill revise this review and give you 5 stars. :)

No effort

They made no effort to make it compatible with ipad: no touch no motion commands. Masterpiece game itself but bad transposition

I hope a trend is starting!

When I first got into computers, this was one of my first games! I remember getting chills when I walked down the stairs and the library door closed and that disembodied giggle... I also sometimes find myself whistling the death scene music while I walking around, I hope this starts a trend with other horror games... Like darkseed, realms of the haunting, maniac mansion... Ok.. Enough chit chat.. Back to playing.. SWEEEET!

Great

Great port of a great game! Thanks Atari!Im hoping for an Alone in the Dark 2 and 3 port

Lazy port

Laziest port I have ever seen. The overlay controls on the iPhone are terrible, tiny and non responsive. The buttons are merely stock icons that you’d see on an app, not on a game. They just ported the game 1:1, not doing ANY adaptations for the touch screen. A little nostalgia is fine and I don’t mind using legacy assets (like the “Return to DOS” option at the menu), but this is unplayable.

Pretty good

Needs a better move control or at least make the arrows for movement a bit bigger, its really hard to move around. Plus it has some graphical bugs and sometimes the character would move around in circles and have to restart the app. But so far it seems pretty fun! I will raise to 5 stars once the d-pad is fixed.

Yay survival horror

Yes controls are pretty funky and hard to adjust to but for a buck this is pretty good since a old Resident Evil is hard to imagine landing on here. Its hard and tricky to maneuver but itll provide a good survival horror fix I think.

Fail. Do not buy.

Terrible controls ruin the old skool nostalgia.

F-

The worst game Ive ever bought. Terrible controls.

Terrible

Terrible controls cant even move around correctly. Biggest waste of money
